Deleting a language will delete all progress made in that language. Also, if you have a subscription of Duolingo Plus, you can archive the languages, which means that you will not be able to practice them but your progress will be saved.

Delete Languages on Duolingo

  1. Open the Duolingo app on your device.
  2. Tap on the profile icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  3. Tap on "Settings" in the top right corner.
  4. Tap on "Manage languages."
  5. Select the language you wish to delete.
  6. Scroll down and tap on "Delete."
  7. Confirm your action by tapping on "Delete" again.

Alternatively, you can delete the language from the web browser:

  1. Go to the Duolingo website.
  2. Log in to your account.
  3. Click on the settings gear icon.
  4. Click on "Manage languages"
  5. Select the language you wish to delete.
  6. Scroll down and click on "Delete."
  7. Confirm your action by clicking on "Delete" again.
